Kenya Safari Film-making Adventure for Teenagers
It can be a challenge to part your children from their digital technology and get them to step back into the real world, but this Kenya family safari will re-engage even the most intractable teenager. Wildlife film-making in the Masai Mara, adventures in Laikipia and lazy days exploring Lamu on a luxury dhow will teach them useful new skills, and provide an adventure they (and you) will never forget.
You'll begin among the game-rich plains of Kenya's legendary Masai Mara, staying in luxury tents and a tree-house courtesy of the Mara's most exclusive and knowledgeable private safari specialists. We'll have the founder of the camp personally guide you, and bring in a top professional wildlife cameraman to teach your children how to build a story, shoot and produce a short documentary out of the remarkable raw natural material around you. During downtime, you can relax while your children mess around with the amazing guides and safari team, enjoying water fights or even learning how to drive a truck. We promise they won't be pining for their Wi-Fi connection.
Then it's a short hop by private plane to the Laikipia Highlands to stay at our favourite private house. Here you'll experience total exclusivity, flawless hosting and an amazing array of adventures. Dance with local Samburu tribespeople, track rhino or the resident pride of lions on horseback (on foot if you dare!), and embark on heli-adventures, soaring over flamingo-filled soda lakes, sand-boarding on desert dunes or touching down on a remote kopje for a bush picnic with forever views. If you wish, we can have one of Kenya's leading lights in conservation, culture or social enterprise fly up and provide you all with food for thought and inspiration during your stay.
Finally we'll fly you directly to Lamu on the Kenyan coast to board a stylishly bohemian private dhow. Spend care-free days snorkelling untouched coral reefs, fetching up on castaway beaches, wake-boarding behind the dhow's speedboat or simply jumping off the prow into the warm Indian Ocean. In the evenings, you'll dine aboard, feasting on fresh-caught seafood and fine wines before choosing whether to retreat to land for the night (in which case we'll arrange the perfect private Swahili villa for you) or have us roll out a white linen bedroll on deck for you so that you can be lulled to sleep beneath the stars.
